January at the RBSA: reasons to be cheerful!

January is the month for budding art collectors to seek out a bargain. The sales continue apace and the RBSA is pleased to offer those new to buying art the chance to snap up a bargain!

The current StArt Exhibition is our equivalent of the January sales, but in an environment far more conducive to making that all important purchase for your home.

On January 20 we will be opening the doors for one of our most popular annual events… the Studio Sale, where you can pick up art for as little as £20!

This year’s sale features a large selection of ceramics by Andrew Matheson, in addition to a stunning range of contemporary artworks by our Members and Associates.

The StArt exhibition provides an opportunity for art enthusiasts with smaller budgets to purchase original art works for £300 or less.

StArt is, as the name suggests, a great starting point for those looking to buy original art for their homes.

Over the years, the exhibition has grown in popularity and attracts visitors looking for affordable high quality art.

Studio Sale

The queues form early for this popular annual sale, which features discounts on works by prominent Members and Associates of the RBSA. With prices as low as £20 there will be art to suit all budgets on the day, but remember to get to our Gallery early to ensure you are first in line.

As one of the leading outlets for contemporary craft in the Midlands, the RBSA showcases the work of designer makers through our creatively themed displays on the ground floor of our Jewellery Quarter gallery.

Celebrating 30 years of sculpting, the Shapeshifters present an exhibition featuring the work of this well-established sculptors’ collective, based at Winterbourne Gardens and Dudley College.

Don’t miss Joan Sharma on 13 January! She’ll be giving a free demonstration on how to create a sculpture from recycled materials.

 

Starlight
