The RBSA Gallery has reopened with the RBSA Anniversary Exhibition and three new Ground Floor exhibitions.
RBSA Gallery is Open
The RBSA Gallery reopens its doors to welcome visitors today. The gallery and shop are open with reduced opening hours: 10.30am – 5pm from Tuesday – Saturday. Admission is free.
We have implemented further hygiene and social distancing measures with the advice from the UK Government, as the safety of our visitors and staff remains our main priority.

RBSA Anniversary Exhibition
28 July – 5 September
We open with the RBSA Anniversary Exhibition, celebrating the RBSA Gallery’s 20th year in the JQ.
The RBSA Anniversary Exhibition draws together Collection Acquisitions from the last 20 years displayed alongside artwork by current members.

Ground Floor Exhibitions
28 July – 29 August
Three solo exhibitions are on display in the Ground Floor gallery until 29 Aug.
Ann Hackett’s work expresses an understanding of the construction of flowers and the ethereal nature of the subject.
Here and There features a recent collection of David George’s paintings, capturing the mood of coastlines and landscapes.
Viv Astling’s work explores the relationship between sculpted form and sound, particularly classical composition.
Online Exhibition 2020
16 July – 13 August
The annual RBSA Friends Exhibition provides a platform for Friends to display their work at various stages of their career.
This online exhibition features 140 artworks from 70 Friends of the RBSA, some taking inspiration from the artist’s experience during lockdown.
All artworks are available to buy (excluding commissions) and sales support the artist and RBSA Gallery.

Call for Entries: RBSA Prize Exhibition 2020

The RBSA stages an annual Prize exhibition to provide opportunities for artists to show their artwork and be rewarded for their talents. One of the RBSA’s most prominent exhibitions of the year, the Prize Exhibition aims to reduce some of the common barriers to exhibiting such as limited budgets and time.

The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) is an artist-led charity which supports artists and promotes engagement with the visual arts through a range of exhibitions, events and workshops.
The RBSA runs an exhibition venue, the RBSA Gallery, in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, a short walk from the city centre.
The gallery is open from 10.30am – 5pm on Tuesday – Saturday. Admission is free.
